The US Chess Women’s Committee is forming a Think Tank. The goal of this subcommittee, is to explore ways to create a more supportive atmosphere for women and girls in the US. We are especially concerned about retaining girls after the age of 12. We will explore and study policy issues given to the Women’s Committee by the following sources: from the Executive Board through our Liaisons, from the Chairmen of other US Chess Committees and from members of our own Women’s Committee, in response to events in the World of Women’s Chess. All our proposals will be reviewed by the Women’s Committee before they are sent to our Executive Board for their consideration.
If you are a FIDE arbiter, US Chess Senior TD (or above) a coach specializing in teaching girls, or an event organizer with experience promoting events for women or girls, we need your expertise. This is a volunteer consulting position.
Members of this Think Tank must be members of US Chess. Members may also request to join the US Chess Women’s Committee as voting members.
